What to Look for in an ACP Factory Supplier (Not a Trader)
Buyers who get burned on aluminum composite panels usually did not fail on price — they failed on supplier due diligence. The cheapest quote often comes from a trader who cannot control quality, lead time, or consistency. Here is the checklist we recommend every ACP buyer use before paying a deposit, based on our own 25+ years running a factory in Jinhua, Zhejiang.
1. Confirm it is a real factory
Ask for the factory address and check it on a map, request recent production line videos, and ask how many composite lines they run. A genuine ACP manufacturer has dedicated composite lines and, ideally, its own coil coating lines — the mark of vertical control over quality.
2. Check the coating supply chain
Coating quality is the number-one cause of early panel failure. Ask which resin brands they use. Industry benchmarks are PVDF from PPG (USA) at 70%+ fluorocarbon content, polyester from Becker, and pretreatment from Henkel or Chemetall. If the supplier cannot name its coating suppliers, the coating is likely a no-name paint that will fade in a few years.
3. Ask for certificates and test reports
- ISO9001 quality management certificate
- A2 fire test report (EN 13501-1 / NFPA 285) for fire-rated panels
- Engineering-recommended product certificate, if available
- Miami-Dade NOA documentation for US coastal projects
4. Order a sample kit before bulk
A sample kit in your exact thickness and color lets you verify flatness, coating adhesion, and color consistency in hand — before committing to a container. Any factory confident in its process will send samples.
5. Test the lead time and shipping options
Real factories quote honest lead times (typically 10–15 days after deposit) and offer FOB, CIF, or DDP. Vague or “any time” promises are a red flag — they usually mean the order will be re-traded to another mill.
