Advantage
Mirror Finish
What Is a Mirror-Finish ACP?
A mirror-finish ACP is a composite panel whose front aluminium skin has been polished to a specular surface and then protected with a clear anodised or coated layer, so that it reflects like glass. That skin is bonded to a polyethylene or a fire-rated core, which keeps the panel light: a 4 mm mirror panel weighs roughly 5.5 kg per square metre, so two people can handle a full sheet and it can be cut on site with ordinary woodworking tools. Because the reflective face is aluminium rather than glass, there is no shattering risk — which is why it is used so widely in interiors, ceilings and lift cars.
Faces
Silver, Gold and Black Mirror
Three standard faces cover most jobs. Silver mirror is the neutral one, closest to a real glass mirror, and is the usual choice for ceilings and lift interiors. Golden mirror has a warm tint, normally specified where the reflection should read as brass or bronze. Black mirror is a smoked, lower-reflectance finish for interiors where a darker surface is wanted without losing the sense of depth. If you are matching an existing joinery, signage or lift scheme, send the reference and we will confirm the closest match.
Applications
Where Mirror-Finish Panels Are Used
Mirror ACP is an interior and sheltered-exterior product:
- Interior ceilings, ceiling rafts and recessed lighting surrounds
- Lift (elevator) cars, lift lobbies and feature walls
- Retail shopfronts, display plinths, cash desks and shelf backings
- Exhibition and event stands that have to be built and struck quickly
- Column covers, reception feature walls, signage and wayfinding
Used fully exposed to weather the surface loses its mirror gloss faster, so for exterior work specify a clear-coated grade and expect a slightly softer reflection.
Handling
Handling and Installing Mirror Panels
Leave the protective film on until the panels are fixed and the wet trades have finished — a mirror face marks easily if it is handled with dusty gloves. Keep the panel orientation consistent so that reflections line up across a run, and allow the normal expansion gap at every joint. Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral detergent; abrasive pads and aggressive solvents will dull the surface permanently.
Ordering
Buying Mirror-Finish ACP from Jinxiang
Zhejiang Jinxiang Panel Industry Co., Ltd. has manufactured aluminum composite panel in Jinhua, Zhejiang since 1998, in an 18,000 m² factory running 5 automatic coil coating lines and 3 continuous multi-coat and multi-bake coil lines. We have held ISO 9001 since 2002 and export to over 70 countries. Mirror panels are made in 2–6 mm, in widths of 1220, 1250, 1500 and 1570 mm, on a PE or a fire-rated core — see PE vs FR-B1 vs A2 core for which to specify. The finish sits on the same base panel as the rest of our aluminum composite panel range. Stock colours ship against a one-container MOQ; custom colours carry a 500 m² minimum per colour, with lead time normally 10–15 days after deposit. Send your panel size, thickness, core and colour reference and we will quote it.
