SIGNAGE Panels

Due to various superiority of the Aluminum composite panel, such as light weight, easy on processing and colorful design, it has become one most applicable and popular material for the advertising use, like signage, digital UV printing, sign board, Auto 4S shop, shop front decoration, display fabrication and so on.

Signboard ACP type can be directly applied for silk-screen or digital printing. It’s easy on processing and can be fixed to all shapes. It’s recommended to use the panel thickness 3mm, aluminum skin thickness 0.15mm, 0.21mm and 0.30mm.

Specification

Choosing the Right Panel for Signage

Signage is usually specified from the panel thickness up. This is the starting point we use with sign fabricators — adjust it for the span and the fixing method:

  • Flat fascia signs and printed panels — 3 mm, aluminium skin 0.15–0.21 mm
  • Larger unsupported panels and illuminated light boxes — 4 mm, skin 0.21–0.30 mm
  • Routed and folded letters, curved fascia — 3 mm, skin 0.21 mm
  • Interior displays and POS units — 3 mm, skin 0.15 mm

A thicker skin holds a sharper radius when the panel is folded and resists denting better on an exposed shopfront. Tell us the span and how the sign is fixed and we will confirm the specification.

Printing

Printing and Finishing

Signage ACP can be supplied uncoated for direct printing, or pre-coated in white and other colours ready for vinyl. Direct UV printing goes straight onto the coated face, and silk-screen and vinyl application both work well on a flat, clean panel. Two practical points: keep the panel flat and fully supported while it is printed so the ink cannot pool, and leave the protective film in place until after fabrication. Gloss, matt, brushed and mirror faces are all used in signage — see the aluminum composite panel range for what is available.

Applications

Where Signage ACP Is Used

  • Shopfront fascia and surrounds
  • Car dealerships and petrol station fascia
  • Exhibition stands, display fabrication and point-of-sale units
  • Wayfinding, directory and information signage
  • Digital signage housings and light boxes
  • Interior signage and wall graphics

Signage is the least demanding of the three ACP applications: it rarely faces a fire regulation, and the panels are usually small enough that a standard PE core is entirely adequate. Where a sign does fall under a building’s fire specification, the same panel can be supplied on FR-B1 or A2 core — see the core selection guide.
